Looking under the skin of the updated Dante with DmC: Devil May Cry!

I’ve been taking a closer look at Ninja Theory’s revamp of the Devil May Cry series and I’m really starting to wonder what the hell everyone’s problem with it is. Yes he may not look like he did before (all though recent trailers have him looking like his former self after he activates a rage like form reminiscent of Devil Trigger) and his back story has been tweaked a bit, but the Dante we all fell in love with is still there. If anything I think he’s a bit better with his new much more sardonic, authority hating, sadist streak type humor. I like the idea of a sarcastic, super powered rebel child fighting his way through a world reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland on shrooms, but with demons and possessed security cameras (yeah I don’t know what’s going on either)! His weapons are back with a bit of a tweak as the sword Rebellion this time around has a case of multiple personality disorder with it being able to turn into different types of weapons with different names. Examples of this include its transformation into a Scythe like staff called Osiris and a Battle-axe called the Arbiter. Ebony and Ivory, Dante’s trusty infinitely loaded twin pistols are back with an updated Desert Eagle look to them. Dante’s moves are back, with a bit more explanation to them. The fact that Dante’s new back story involves him being half angel as well as half demon helps to explain his gracefulness and ability to travel through the air at great heights and speed for shorts amount time. Everything else seems to come with the Demon blood including his enhanced strength, stamina and this new Devil Trigger mode I talked about earlier. The man’s the same; he just got a new coat of paint, that’s all, but if a new look is enough he drive you away from playing this new take on a beloved series, than by all means…make the stupid decision not to play it! Check out this trailer!
